For the past 18 years, Brock University's Department of Communication, Popular Culture and Film has been hosting the annual Terry O’Malley Lecture in Marketing and Advertising.  This event was created by Terry O’Malley as a way to expose Brock students to the world of marketing.  Each year, Terry invites a recognized expert in the field of advertising to speak about their careers, the highs and lows, and what it takes to be successful in this very competitive profession. 

The O'Malley Lecture is accompanied by the Grant Dobson Case Competition which provides students with the opportunity to showcase their superior creativity and presentation skills in marketing to a panel of industry experts. A topic is determined and student teams prepare proposals and sales pitches to share with the adjudicators.  In addition to expert advice and an exhilarating experience, the top teams are also rewarded with cash prizes.
