Entrance Requirements
The student had to be physically fit.
He (and at first, it was all males) had to have a Secondary School diploma with an average of 60% in English, Math, Biology, and Chemistry.
He had to have work experience of two to three years working in a nursery, greenhouse, parks department, or similar environment.
Only male students were accepted and they had to be single. It wasn't until 1976 that the school had its first female graduate. An indenture had to be signed. This indenture insured that the student would serve the Parks Commission for a period of three years.
The reputation of the school is world-renowned. The recruiting of the students begins while they are still in their first year. They are sought for their expertise in park systems horticulture, floriculture, landscaping and nursery trades as well as research and maintenance. The placement rate is 100%.
