The Grounds
A pergola was built in 1987 in honour of James N. Allan, the Honourary Chairman of the Niagara Parks Commission. A stone path connects the pergola to the rose garden fountain. A gift shop and information centre were also added to the grounds.

The School of Horticulture is situated on 99 acres of botanical gardens which were modelled after the Kew Gardens in London, England.
School of Horticulture attractions have included: an arboretum; an aviary complete with chickens, turkeys, pheasants and geese; dwarf conifers; greenhouses; the herb garden; a herbarium containing dried plant specimens; horse and carriage rides; an ornamental grass garden; a parterre garden (a garden to be viewed from a higher position); a perennial border; a rhododendron and azalea collection; a rock garden; a rose garden; a shade garden; vegetable gardens and a woodland garden. A Butterfly Conservatory became part of the landscape in 1996. At the front of the Butterfly Conservatory is a garden designed to attract butterflies.
