SPARCS is a complex and varied exploration of the process of artistic creation from the first spark of inspiration.
The exhibit follows the students' process from conception to realization. The students focused on the mental and physical processes of transforming the spark of an idea through both successes and failure, observing, and adjusting their trajectory as they moved towards the completed piece of art.
An unimportant element of this process was the effort made by the students to create with repurposed items such as: cardboard, random items found around the home, reused modelling clay, used plastic, and all manner of found materials.
Each student documented their process as they worked through their mental and physical act of creation. Their documentation will be an important part of the exhibit.Visitors are invited to follow the process, walking in the artist's shoes.
Please join us for our opening reception with refreshments served.
