Welcome to RMA

Reading the Middle Ages omeka site was created by Dr. Teresa Russo for students to display their research and creative projects in the Humanities course, Reading the Middle Ages: The Heroic and the Chivalric (MARS/ENGL2P95), offered by the Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies (MARS) with the English Department.

We would like to thank David Sharron, Head of Archives and Special Collections at Brock University, and to Tim Ribaric, Director of the Digital Scholarship Lab (DSL), and Daniel Brett of the Digital Scholarship Lab (DSL) for their support as students and I began this project. We are also extremely grateful for the continuous support of all our course projects and conferences from Professor Felipe Ruan, Director of the Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies, and Elaine Aldridge-Lowe, Administrative Assistance at MARS.

University Acknowledgement

Brock University acknowledges the land on which we gather is the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe peoples, many of whom continue to live and work here today. This territory is covered by the Upper Canada Treaties and is within the land protected by the Dish with One Spoon Wampum  Agreement.  Today this gathering place is home to many First Nations, Metis, and Inuit peoples and acknowledging reminds us that our great standard of living is directly related to the resources and friendship of Indigenous people.
