Abstract
Robert Houston was a lock tender living in Port Dalhousie, Ontario when he had his portrait taken by Thomas Charles, St. Catharines, Ontario. Robert Houston died in Port Dalhousie on 6 November 1889 at the age of 46. It may have been his nephew George Houston who is listed as the informant on Robert's death certificate. Robert Houston is likely buried in the St. John's Anglican Church cemetery in Port Dalhousie with other Houston family members.
