Old English Electric Buildings Demolished, 2 May 1972
Description
A photograph of workers as they dismantle parts of the old English Electric buildings on George Street in St. Catharines, Ontario. The buildings were purchased by York Steel Construction Ltd. in 1962, but this is the first of any work done to the buildings. The demolition includes removing all one story buildings at Russell Avenue and George Street and removing an old transformer building on Catherine Street. The buildings have been vandalized repeatedly over the years.
