Catharine Fretz (1789-1866)

Catharine Fretz was the wife of Samuel Fretz of Louth Township, Ontario.  Both Catharine and Samuel Fretz were born in the United States, likely in Pennsylvania. 

She died 11 September 1866 at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 8 days.   Catharine Fretz is buried in the Fry House cemetery in Jordan, Ontario. 

The Fretz family are of Pennsylvania German origins, part of a large contingency of Mennonites who traveled to Canada after the American Revolution in search of free land and religious freedom.
