Small Movements

Introduction

Small Movements showcases two projects, both funded by VPR Canada Summer Games Grants (Brock University), by Visual Arts faculty members Amy Friend and Donna Szoke. 

Interactions (Amy Friend) explores sport, water, and our ecosystems. What do we think of when we think of sport photography? The exhibited photographs invite viewers to consider sport, with a focus on the water; how it shapes movement for us, and its other inhabitants. 

Painted Turtles (Donna Szoke) explores art and the environment. This collabrative project supported the Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre, connected community through conservation, and used art to shed light on environmental issues. This project also  supported children's agency to make a positive environmental difference, and engaged children with the environment through digital art forms.
