Postcards

Family News and Daily Life

Postcards were also used to conduct the business of daily life.  This included relaying family news, arranging social gatherings, and managing business and domestic matters.   Many of these postcards were utilitarian and contained no visual components such as illustrations or photographs.    Others included local or family photographs.   Examples of these types of postcards are displayed here.
