Fundraisers
The Symphony Women's Committee began in the 1950-1951 season. The ladies held post-concert receptions for performers. Annual teas were held beginning in 1953. Fundraising became an important part of the ladies' goals. They have raised a considerable amount of money to add to the orchestra' s budget. Here we see Mrs. Jarvis, Mrs. Goodwin and Mrs. Sankey preparing for a rummage sale in 1973.
Some of the most important people in any arts endeavour are the creative souls who come up with fundraising ideas. The Niagara Symphony Orchestra has had some very innovative and varied fundraisers as exemplified by these posters.
