Title
Press Article Planning + Masked Truths - Early Notes
Description
Transcription of a page from one of AMM's notebooks. The notes on the page are miscellaneous and do not all correspond with the same scene or moment.
A plot point circled around on this page is the newspaper article that is printed on the events surrounding Claire's death, the children's statements, and Rick's and Henry's alibi. AMM planned for the paper to both dismiss the notion of war criminals in Canada being a dangerous or foreign ordeal, and also to incorrectly conclude that the war criminal was in the car with the alleged air force man that waved at Rick and that it was a sadist from a munitions factory who was preying upon children in Centralia.
Transcription:
() - best guess at a word or phrase
<> - scratched out on the page

War criminals under every bush
Bygones be bygones
War is over + the only people in CANADA have been cleared.
- Fr. understandably concerned (further) + a Jew - who may have suffered terribly → judgment.
- Paper gets facts wrong: war criminal in car with air force man.
- A sadist from a munitions factory on the loose, preying upon children
- A thinks it’s good that Marjorie’s statement is less incriminating than Grace’s
- A thinks Colleen is not married
