Greater Niagara General Hospital

A Greater Niagara Hospital Association was formed and they recommended that a new hospital be built at Poplar Park in Niagara Falls. This park had been donated to the Stamford Township by Sir Harry Oakes. It was to be used for recreational purposes. Lady Oakes agreed to let the land be used for a hospital as long as other parks were offered to the people of Niagara.
