Description
Friends and colleagues gathering on June 21 1984 to honour James and Caroline Gibson and to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the founding of Brock University. The friends commissioned Dr. Gibson’s handpicked Canadian artist, Frederick Hagan (seen in the above photograph standing to Dr. Gibson’s left) to represent his likeness in oil. The background includes several symbolic images near and dear to Dr. Gibson. The portrait was later presented to the University and today hangs in the Senate chambers.
