Jimmy's Barber Shop opened in 1961 on the northwest corner of the plaza. In the early 1990s it moved to a larger location in the middle of the plaza. Jimmy Rocca came from southern Italy at the age of 15. He spent a couple of years learning his trade in Toronto. The family that had built the Stamford Green Plaza encouraged Jimmy to move to Stamford and open up his own shop.
