Meadow's Pharmacy

In 1925, Thorburn Drugstore was built at Collard's Corner.  It became Meadow's Pharmacy when A.C. Thorburn died in 1929 and the property was purchased by pharmacist William Meadows. The pharmacy operated for 30 years in that location and eventually moved to Stamford Green Plaza in 1959.  Jim Pellows became a partner in the business. After the death of William Meadows in 1971, Jim Pellows bought the business where his son Brian began working for him in 1966. Brian graduated as a pharmacist in 1975 and he took over the business in 1984 with his associate, Dennis Geogieff.  Meadow's was originally located on the south end of the plaza near the supermarket, but in the 1990s,  it moved to a larger location in the centre of the plaza. Meadow's Pharmacy is no longer located in the Stamford Green Plaza. They currently have two locations, one in Mount Carmel Centre and the other at Five Corners. They are not located at their original Five Corners location, but in the Thorold Stone Plaza.
