Description

Question 1: What are your current feelings about the COVID-19 pandemic?
I’m hopeful seeing the cases go down but still wary of a second wave. I’m definitely uneasy seeing people drop their guards as much as they have.

Question 2: Have your opinions about the virus changed over the past twelve weeks? How?
I have become somewhat less fearful of the virus as the weeks progressed because we’ve learned more about it and have seen that the social distancing has been working.

Question 3: As stores and public places have started to open up, does this make you relieved or more fearful? Why?
I’m concerned. If there is a way to maintain social distancing I feel more comfortable with it.

Question 4: What have been the primary ways that you have protected yourself from COVID-19? Isolation? Masks? Gloves? Hand sanitizer? How did you decide?
Hand sanitizer and frequent hand washing have been my method of choice.
I have a cloth mask but use it sparingly. I don’t like the idea of touching my face more and it flares up my asthma.
I won’t do gloves because I’d rather hand sanitizer and wash my hands.

Question 5: If an effective vaccine is developed within the next year and becomes widely available, would you get the vaccine? Why or why not?
I’m not sure yet. I’m a stay at home mom who’s pretty much home bound with my children 90 percent of the time.
I believe in vaccinating, I’m just uncertain if there has been the proper length of time to study this vaccine and it’s effects. I don’t really want to become a lab rat, but I also don’t want to get sick with this virus.

Question 6: Have you been tested for COVID-19? How was that experience?
I haven’t. Unfortunately early on I displayed all of the symptoms but was advised I didn’t fit in the category to get tested.

Question 7: How much longer are you ready to live with regulations and limitations? When should things get back to "normal"?
I hate the restrictions as much as anyone and would love life to go back to normal but I respect why they are in place. I’m not missing restaurants or retail. There’s take out and online shopping. What I do wish for the summer is things like beaches and splash pads to be open for the kids as long as we can still maintain distancing.

Question 8: Have you thought about how you will interact in the community once the pandemic has passed? What will you do the same or different day to day?
I think I’d keep more distance from people.
I’d wear a mask if I was coughing or sneezing. Work culture used to mean coming in sick and sucking it up. I hope that changes because there could be less spread of things from flus to the common cold
