Senior during Covid

Title

Senior during Covid

Description

Being retired has made going through the pandemic much easier I believe. If you have a partner and a fur baby it’s even easier.
We walk or bike ride each morning. Coffee on the front porch or back deck. Water the plants ..lots of time to dead head the flowers.
Lunch nap read a book...check emails and Facebook..talk on the phone to a friend..tea break on the porch..prepare supper..watch some news..another bike ride.. netflex...back porch with chiminea fire till bed time.. 𝘊𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘤𝘰 every 2 weeks
My sisters are in lockdown at a seniors retirement home..we have not been able to see them in person for three months.
My daughter works in Toronto but luckily from home for now..she is super careful but can’t come home for a visit..I worry for when she will have to take public transit..right now she walks to shop and runs for excercise. My son is a police officer in Kitchener so there is always the chance he will be put in harms way with someone who has the Covid.
I have lost two seniors ..former neighbours..to Covid in a retirement home. I felt so bad for their families not being able to be with them when they were sick and died and also not having a proper funeral to say good by
I appreciate the daily updates on the radio and T.V. And also hearing from our Prime Minister and Premier on a daily basis
Yes I believe we are being told the truth by all the leaders
I’m thinking 2021 before restrictions totally come off if an antidote is found. I worry about the kids loosing their social skills..turning more to their iPads computers and phones for company
I’m hoping when allowed the parents won’t be signing up their kids for too many activities..running here and there..grabbing takeout food instead of home cooked meals. Letting kids be kids doing what they want to do not what their parents want them to do..
I hope there will be a better appreciation for family and more time spent with relatives..not just on FaceTime
More people are getting cats and dogs to help with the loneliness..or boredom..I hope they continue to love them when their lives become busier when Covid ends
