Answer 1 - Masks:

Yes I agree that the government should be able to mandate us to wear a mask for our health. Just wear one. It protects you when others wear one. Lets not be selfish and whine about rights and freedoms. Think of just one person other than yourself and wear a mask.

Answer 2 - Borders:

Good Decision for Canada. Keep it closed until both countries take it seriously and get it under control. Right now we have enough people using nasty ways to get into the country and are not following the rules. eg: Looking up obituary's and saying they are coming to Canada for a funeral and then staying at a hotel, shopping and going for dinner. If they are infected, can you figure out how many people they have come in contact with and spread the virus?

Answer 3 - Visitors:

If they wouldnt complain about the mask wearing, and follow social distancing, thats fine. But to come from say toronto, go to Clifton Hill and complain about having to wear a mask on the rides or in stores, and yet ask if its cleaned properly is a shake my head moment. This happens a lot. For people coming from other cities, especially higher case cities, follow the mask rules or stay home.

Answer 4 - Schools

Online learning is good for some and not for others. If a person comes from a family where they do not take the virus serious, they have a tendency to not follow the rules because they are being taught not to. This is a problem. Add in that its hard to tell a child that you cant go and play with your friend when they have always been able to. Give everyone the option to school online. For those that simply cant learn that way, attend class. But keep the class size down. In Calgary, at my nieces school, grade 6 enter through one door and go to their floor, same for grades 7 and 8. Keeps the students from travelling between floors and they follow, stay on left/right depending on the direction. It seems to be working.

Answer 5 - Second Wave:

Its coming now. With Shoppers Drug Mart now testing for people with no symptoms, more people will be getting tested so the numbers will start to climb. Im hoping with people wearing masks and following the rules, the regular flu season will see less patients and hopefully keep covid under control. Until everyone complies, this will go on and on.

Answer 6 - Missing Out:

I had a vacation to Costa Rica in April that we had to cancel. Im stuck with a travel voucher to be used before March 17 2022. I dont know if I will ever get on a plane again. The alternative was to lose half my money and travel by the end of 2020 which I knew was not going to happen. Not happy with Air Canada as I had travel insurance. In addition, a family member was to travel from Calgary to Ontario in September that had to be cancelled. Now I have a travel voucher with westjet as well. These airlines should be refunding money not travel vouchers. I have $3700 held up with these vouchers that will most likely never be used at the rate we are going with the virus around the world. Not to mention the shape of the planes parked. Do I want to travel on a rusty plane?

Answer 7 - Sources:

I watch CNN to see what the usa is up to because living across the border and them sneaking in. I also watch CP24. I get info from facebook 411.

Answer 8 - Return to Normal:

Im hoping by the new year. But until Trump is voted out and Biden takes over and gets the USA on track, the border will remain closed. For travelling, its the plane ride im most concerned about. Places like Antigua where I like to visit, seem to have a good grasp on the virus. Testing is done before you enter their country, unlike Canada who has multiple flights from hot spots arrive daily and people are sent home to quarantine (but dont). Its going to be another year before we start to see some normalcy.
