Walking on a Tightrope

On 6 September 1890, Samuel Dixon, a photographer from Toronto, crossed over the rapids of the Niagara River on a tightrope that was only 1.5 cm wide. This stereoscope photo captures the moment when Dixon stopped midway to balance on one foot.
