Early Wine in Niagara

On 9 June 1873, George Barnes of St. Catharines officially incorporated the Ontario Grape Growing and Wine Manufacturing Company - later to be renamed Barnes Wines. For over 100 years, it was known as Canada's oldest continuously run wine making operation.
