The Fenian Raid

The Rooth friendship album is a combination of an autograph book, sketch pad, and scrapbook maintained by a local Niagara family through the 19th century. On pages 115 and 120, you can find the names of members of the Welland Canal Field Battery, Queen's Own Rifles, 13th Battalion Infantry and Trinity College Rifles from June 1866. These were troops sent in to stop the Fenian Raid who likely billeted with and near the Rooth family.
