The Girl Guides of St. Catharines
An amazing little bit of trivia, St. Catharines formed the first Girl Guides company in Canada back in 1910 under the leadership of Mary Malcolmson.
Helen Smith joined the 2nd Company of St. Catharines in 1915. Her enrollment card displays all of her achievements that year including proficiency in ambulance / first aid, music and needlepoint. Helen was also earned her Tenderfoot and 2nd class badges.
