Legacies of the Woodruff Family
One of the earliest families to settle and thrive in the village of St. David's were the Woodruffs. Richard and William Woodruff were involved in just about everything from serving in the War of 1812, operating a grist mill and general store, banking, local and provincial politics, the Welland Canal, and much more. Their children continued this legacy.
The entire Woodruff family collection in the Brock University Archives has been digitized with the help of the Friends of the Loyalist Collection at Brock University. You can find these early pieces of St. David's history athttps://dr.library.brocku.ca/handle/10464/6430.
