Early Idea for the Welland Canal
This undated map is of a proposed canal through the district of Niagara and Gore. It begins at Burlington Bay and winds its way through the peninsula to the Grand River.
The Welland Canal looks to be added roughly by hand after this map was printed. This idea must predate the Welland Canal. Just imagine if this is how it happened.
