Welland Canal Lantern Slide regarding the Port Colborne Bridge
Coloured cartoon slide entitled Life’s Little Worries – depicts the chief A.J. “with apologies” and refers to the traffic bridge in Port Colborne. A.J. is Alexander J. Grant (1863-1955). He was the engineer in charge of construction of the Welland Canal.
A lantern slide is a positive print of a photograph on a glass slide. Sometimes the photographic negatives were hand-colored to enhance them.
